URBAN REFORMS
Janaagraha’s advocacy efforts are focused on urban reforms linked to our R.E.E.D. Framework.
Based on the premise that our democratic institutions and processes are out-dated and do not adequately reflect the progressive needs of India of the 21st century, Janaagraha’s advocacy efforts are focused on structural reforms. For scalable, sustainable change most of the reforms require institutional change backed by appropriate statutes, policies and procedures.
Such reforms need implementation by governments at different levels – union, state and local, depending upon the nature of the reform. The design of these reforms need to be examined, challenged, debated, fine-tuned and embraced by multiple arms of governments as well as civil society groups .
Hence Janaagraha’s advocacy efforts constantly reach out to a myriad cross section of politicians, policy makers, practitioners and people.
