Hi! I just joined Janagraaha Volunteer forum and hope to contribute a bit to the Urban sensibilities in India. Just wanted to wave out to everyone at J!
I first came across Janaagraha while studying architecture @BIT, Bangalore. But didn't really take it seriously until now. Looking back now, perhaps I should have.
I live in Finland, as of now focussing on my thesis work: Introducing a new strategy in Port Vell, Barcelona.
I'd like to see some kind of "Vision" for our cities back home too. We (the city planners) seem to have missed out on clarity at the grassroot level, and this probably can be solved with the right combination of facilitators, architects, urban designers etc. Probably with the right inputs and a lot of interactions (workshops for students/architects etc, on field jobs, competitions) and so on we can work towards creating better cities while maintaining the identity of these cities.
Its all about the process and you guys are doing a great job @J!
